Display & Search
A high degree of user acceptance is very important for an ECM/DMS system. ELO has the unique selling point that users are immediately able to find their way around the new ECM/DMS system without great difficulty as the documents are filed in a familiar archive, filing cabinet, folder and register structure. If documents have been filed away, it must also be possible to retrieve them quickly.
Simple access via the ELO client
ELO can be accessed in a number of different ways. The Windows client has the largest functional scope. The Java client is an interesting alternative for different operating system environments.Simple, effective access is also a possibility from Windows Explorer by using ELO Explorer, whereby the entire archive structure is shown in Windows Explorer. With regard to web-based access, the ELO Internet Gateway makes it possible to access ELO directly and use the most important functions. If a company has existing portal applications, such as SAP Portal or Microsoft Office SharePoint Server 2007, ELO and its entire functional spectrum can be integrated without any difficulty. Based on standard technology, ELO can be simply incorporated into existing portal environments. Documents are directly archived in ELO and existing documents from ELO can be displayed directly in the portal.
Search and find
Along with indexed searching, ELO also supports full-text searching for terms found in the content of documents. If desired, the results can be highlighted in colour in order to make it easier to recognise them in the text.
The full-text search is particularly useful when searching scanned press articles, logs, contracts and archived e-mails. Searches can be combined in ELO, allowing you to narrow down your search operations more quickly. A precise search result is the outcome.
